Critics Nominate 'Buffy,' 'Survivor'
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Nominations for the
17th annual
Television Critics
Association Awards
(think of them as
the anti-People’s
Choice) were announced Thursday
(May 31), with "Buffy, the Vampire
Slayer" and "The Sopranos" making strong showings.
CBS received seven nominations, including two for its
first-season crime drama "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
"Survivor" garnered nominations for Program of the Year and
New Program.
In the repeat category, previous winners "The Sopranos" and
"The West Wing" were nominated again in the outstanding
program and drama categories. "Sopranos" star James
Gandolfini, who has won the award the past two years, was
also nominated again for individual achievement in drama.
New shows "Ed," "Gilmore Girls" and "The Job" were also
favorites among the notoriously picky critics.
Winners will be announced during the TCA Awards
Ceremony, which will be hosted by Christopher Titus, on
Saturday, July 21, at the Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel in
Pasadena, CA.
