Clips of SMG in The Grudge and more

TheMovieBox.com has a behind-the-scenes video clip about Sarah Michelle Gellar's upcoming movie, "The Grudge." Some fun clips of Sarah and also snippets of the original Japanese version to give you a hint of what the movie will be like. Check that out here. "The Grudge" is scheduled to open in October 2004.

And the trailer for "I, Robot" - the upcoming Alex Proyas adaptation of Isaac Asimov's story starring Will Smith and Alan Tudyk (Wash on "Firefly" - hence the significance of this) - has been released. You won't actually see Alan in the trailer as he plays the robot accused of murder, and is therefore replaced by a digital character, but you should recognize his voice in the interrogation scene with Will Smith. That trailer is up at Yahoo! Movies. "I, Robot" is set to open on July 16, 2004.

S7 BtVS Composer on Buffy, Tru Calling and the scoring business...

Back in February, I conducted an exclusive online interview with Robert Duncan, whom you will all be familiar with from his brilliant work on the final season of Buffy as composer. His most notable effort from the show is clearly his beautiful dramatic score for "Chosen", the series finale.

In the interview, Robert talks about a number of things, including his experience on the show, Tru Calling and his plans for the future.

Click here to read the interview. It's well worth the read.

A huge thanks goes out to Robert for agreeing to the interview and for his extreme generosity; the man is fabulous. Please do not copy or reproduce this interview on other websites.

FOX Home Entertainment Announce the R2 Release of Buffy, Season 7

"It's the end of an era, the end of a legend, the end of television's finest butt-kicking female... But not on DVD! From 5th April 2004 Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will be making it possible to eternalise Buffy in your own home as the Season 7 DVD box-set hits the shelves!

Satisfying the hunger of every Buffy addict, the six-disc DVD box-set features all 22 episodes from Season 7 (rrp. o79.99), and is packed with special features. It might be the final season, but there are still vampishly great storylines to bite into...

With Giles (Anthony Head) and the new potential slayers in Sunnydale, Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Spike (James Marsters) set up a boot camp to train and test the possible superheroes. The wannabe slayers have a lot to live up to and must fight the most evil presence ever to hit Sunnydale. This mega demon is known as The First.

This is also a season for forgiving and forgetting as Buffy begins to regain her trust in Spike, and finds a space in the Scooby gang for ex-villain Jonathan. Meanwhile Anya and Xander are friends again, with perhaps more than a spark in the air?

Willow (Alyson Hannigan) has returned and although she is limited to how much she is allowed to get involved, is back in favour with the group. The Scoobies are in need of all the help they can get with the BIGGEST demon battle they've ever had to face...

With the return of Faith (Eliza Dushku) and Angel (David Boreanaz), the finale goes off with a blast! What will become of Buffy Summers and the Scooby gang? The final Buffy DVD release is a must buy for any fan... but get the tissues ready for the momentous ending!

To gain a further insight into the lives of Sunnydale's earthly and unearthly residents, the Season 7 DVD box-set is full of exclusive special features including commentaries, a Season 7 overview, a Willow demon guide, Buffy 101: Studying The Slayer featurette and an outtakes reel. This final chapter is a must-own DVD for every Buffy fan!

"I just realised something. Something that really never occurred to me before. We're gonna win..." -Buffy"

From: The R2 Project

The details for the Season 7 DVDs will remain relatively the same for all countries. Australia will receive the boxset on May 14th, 2004, whilst the US can expect a release late 2004.

Eliza Dushku's current show, Tru Calling will return from a brief hiatus next Thursday (March 18th) at 8pm on Fox with the episode "Drop Dead Gorgeous." And strangely enough, Clare Kramer (Glory on BtVS; and Eliza's co-star in "Bring it On") will be a guest on that episode.

And Tim Minear, former exec producer on Angel and Firefly, has a new show on Fox that will be premiering on Friday, March 12th. The show is called "Wonderfalls" and will air regularly on Fridays at 9pm. To learn more about the show, check out the official site.

A veritable cornucopia of Angel

Angel Producers Confirm UPN Decision
It looks like the push to have UPN pick up Angel for next season didn't work. I don't know what this means for the future of the show, but things have to start happening soon. Please keep visiting supportangel.org and savingangel.org and help out in the campaigns to save our show.

Gellar Open to Angel Gig
Sarah Michelle Gellar is currently wrapping up filming of "The Grudge" (scheduled to premiere this fall) in Japan, and according to this interview with her from the set of that movie, she's open to guesting on the final episode of Angel, depending on if she's back from Japan in time and if she likes the ideas Joss and co. present to her.

And just a notice, Angel will be on hiatus from now through April 14th. The show will return on April 14th with the six final episodes in a row. crying

Firefly movie gets the greenlight

Universal finds Serenity
A big WHOO HOO to this one. Though I hope that the fact Alan Tudyk (Wash) and Ron Glass (Book) aren't mentioned is just a mistake. Can't have a Firefly movie without the full cast!

New news

I know the news area has been lacking for the past few months (lacking=no updates wink), so in an effort to get things going again, I've converted this page to Movable Type. Along with Kristina and Little Willow, I'll also have a few new folks posting with us.

If anyone is interested in helping us out, drop me a line and let me know a bit about yourself and why you'd like to help out here. Thanks! smile
