While attempting to drive a demon out of a possessed lawyer, Angel is given a well-timed hand by Father Noe, an excommunicated priest. Hunting Ground

Written by: Christopher Golden & Tom Sniegoski
Pencilled by: Eric Powell & Paul Lee
Inked by: Eric Powell & Brian Horton

There's a killer tossing dead bodies out of L.A. sewers like hot potatoes, and all the evidence points Detective Kate Lockley towards one man: a certain vampire named Angel. But Angel knows there are a lot more monsters in L.A -- he just doesn't know which one's trying to set him up. In "Lovely, Dark, and Deep" (from Dark Horse Presents, colored by Matt Hollingsworth) Cordelia lands the starring role in a Blair Witch rip-off about three filmmakers searching for the legendary Helm of Haraxis. But what she doesn't know is that the film is a sham and the Helm's the real thing. Angel, who smelled a rat from the beginning, has to rescue Cordelia and her fellow filmmakers from a cabal of Hollywood demons and angry forest spirits, who all want to keep the Helm of Haraxis and the power it gives them.

Written by: Chris Golden & Tom Sniegoski
Pencilled by: Christian Zanier & Cliff Richards
Inked by: Joe Pimentel & Digital Jump

A huntress is stalking demons in L.A. Normally this would be a good thing, except she's leaving survivors and telling them Angel sent her. Now Angel has an army of demons on his tail, hell-bent on revenge. What's a vampire to do? And how long can his human companions, Cordelia and Wesley, remain safe? Meanwhile, monsters are fleeing the carnage in L.A. and seeking refuge in Sunnydale, where they're being dealt with by the Slayer. Buffy, Giles, and the gang learn about the havoc, and Buffy determines that she must go to Angel's side to lend a hand; a decision that does not sit at all well with Buffy's vampire-hunting boyfriend, Riley. Collecting issues #15-16 of Angel and issues #29-30 from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Long Night's Journey

Written by: Brett Matthews & Joss Whedon
Pencilled by: Mel Rubi
Inked by: Chris Dreier
Cover by: Mel Rubi

Angel searches for a kidnapped child and stumbles upon a force of unspeakable evil and unimaginable power. It seems some insidious character has an old bone to pick with L.A.'s resident vampire detective. Now Angel must go toe to toe with some of the toughest monsters around. Artist Mel Rubi takes us from the darkened mean streets of Los Angeles, to the dizzying heights of the city's skyscrapers, and face to face with some of the strangest, most grotesque, and most unsettlingly seductive creatures Angel has ever faced. Brett Matthews and Angel creator Joss Whedon have retooled and reinvented Angel, giving us a story that is much too big for the small screen. Collecting the four issue mini-series.
